A man involved in a police shooting is given two life sentences.

life sentences were handed down to a guy in connection with a police shooting
in San Marcos in 2020. The Hays County Criminal District Attorney's office
reports that last week, Jeffrey Alan Scott Jr. was found guilty of attempted
capital murder and aggravated assault on a public official and agreed to accept
the two life terms. The district attorney's office claims that in July 2020, US
Marshals located Scott at a 7-Eleven gas station in San Marcos. Scott was
wanted for felony murder in Dallas County. Scott was stopped by a DPS officer
in Texas, who requested his ID. The district attorney's office claims that
Scott drew a pistol, aimed it at the trooper, and fired numerous bullets. The
soldier fired again, and a bullet missed Scott in the head. The soldier escaped
